My character I want to enter in the Tapestry of Horror OCT.

Name:Sjean (SEE-ghee-in)

Stage Name: Mostly he’s just called Sjean, sometimes S-J or Night Walker among the younger Ragged Hawks

Age: 4 (average lifespan is 20, he is a late teen, young adult)

Gender: Male

Species: Ragged Panther Hawk (Ragged Hawk for short)- fantasy species

Act/Talent: Sky Tricks/ Fire play
Abilities: All Ragged Hawks fly fast, but Sjean has possesses even more blinding speed and ability to make sharp turns and maneuvers.

Strengths: He can fight/fly with fire held directly on his talons; his fur is protected by the oils of the feathers on his hocks.

Weaknesses: The underbelly of Ragged Hawks is inherently vulnerable; once he’s on the ground, he is much more impaired unless his talons have been filed down to where his whole paw touches the ground- if they have, he can’t use fire.

Personality: Level headed and calm in stressful situations; can easily hide emotions (especially fear and anger); For the most part, silent; a loner among any other species except his own; basically morally righteous (i.e. no heinous acts of war) unless vitally necessary.

History: Sjean comes from a powerful flock of Ragged Hawks known for flying and hunting at night (hence the nickname). His father was the leader. He had two brothers and a little sister. She was born albino. This is considered a curse among the flocks so Sjean’s entire family was brutally wiped out. He survived when his executioner (who happened to be a cousin of his father’s) showed mercy and let him escape. He has no immediate family and no place to live. He scavenges for food and is constantly on the move.

Likes: Other Ragged Hawks, Fire, Flying, Empty space, trees, sharp objects

Dislikes: Any other species, Enclosed spaces, dirt, rodents

Other: Ragged ‘Panther’ Hawk is actually a misnomer. They are not, in fact, panthers at all, rather half black cougar giving the appearance of a ‘black panther’. They are fiercely loyal and territorial. The ‘Ragged’ part comes both from the fact that they have fur and feathers and that the feathers never smooth. These ‘ruffled’ feathers allow for quick maneuvers and speed control.
They are a mix of the fabled Black Cougar and the Great Black Hawk. They have intermittent fur and feathers. Their heads have the same anatomy as Cougars except slightly longer and have fur with a Mohawk-type crown of feathers that stretches down their back and widens into their tail. Their sides and legs are fur but have tufts of feathers at the hocks. Their talons are huge and birdlike with and opposable thumb-type fourth knuckle. These talons are so long that their entire paw can’t touch the ground at the same time. This can make walking painful for Ragged Hawks born with weak talons. Males sometimes have thick feathers around their necks. There is little other difference between male and female Ragged Hawks.
Different flocks wear different bracelets and to denote family, status, and rank. Sjean once wore elaborate bands but simplified them for the sake of blending in/remaining hidden. Those who want him dead are still on his trail.
Sjean is about three feet at his shoulder. From head to tail, he’s about eight feet. Each of his wings is eight feet, too, making a sixteen-foot wingspan. His tail is about as long as his body (so four foot body, four foot tail).
